Farewell 2005..

As we bid good bye to 2005, we're welcoming a fresh new year of 2006 :) Excited? Well, i'm hoping the new year will be better than the previous ones *crossing my fingers*

Today, Friday 30th Dec 2005, a few things happen:
1] Nurul gave birth to a baby girl, Insyirah :) Hope all went smoothly and Mommy + baby are in tip top condition. Welcome to the world out of Mommy's womb, Insyirah :D Tried to call Nurul but i guess it's still too early. Will try again later
2] My current maid will be going back and my new maid is coming this afternoon. I'm hoping this new helper will be able to blend well with the kids and takes really good care of my kiddos as good as what both the old maids did earlier
3] Last day of work for 2005 and i have a LOT to do. The project consultant referred the files on my tables as "twin towers" *LOL*
4] Project consultants for our new system in ofis are working really hard to finish the project at targetted deadline, which has been moved a few times. Supposedly today is their last day in our ofis but i think we'll be seeing them for another like 3 months.. or is it 4?
5] A good fren's birthday :) Dah call and wish dia "Happy Birthday" pagi-pagi morning. Moga dipanjangkan umur dan dimurahkan rezeki. Amin :D

To all my best of frens out there, we'll pray for the best to come our way throughout this coming new year, aye :) Frens forever *hugz and mwahs*

Milia memang most of the times will not post for a pix coz she'll wanna see what comes out on the screen of the camera so most of her pix are candid :) Faie and Mohsin both love the camera hence ready all the time *wink*
[ Note: CK, Mohsin just cut his hair yesterday and i swear he and Milia does not look alike anymore, hehe. The truth? Me and C like the old look of Mohsin but it's too tiring answering people's question whether he's a girl or a boy :) ]

Mom, Dad and Ziela..

Ziela, being my only sis, is 4 years younger than i am. She's currently a teacher, lives in Alor Star, happily married to Di with 2 lovely sons. She's a few months pregnant with her 3rd child :) Am really happy for her coz she's been wanting to expand her family, hoping for a baby girl. Her morning sickness is quite bad as she never experienced that while carrying her 2 sons, Fikri and Aiman. Fikri will turn 6 in 2006 while Aiman will be 5. Aiman was born in the same year with Faie. Aiman and Faie had their "cukur jambul" together in 2001. At that time, the two balded head kids look very much alike despite of their different gender. Well, i guess most babies look alike, be it anak mat saleh, Cina, Melayu, India, hehehe..

Before she took up teaching career, Ziela was an auditor. After she left STF, she did her accounting studies in UiTM Segamat before continuing with Advance Diploma in Accountancy in UiTM Shah Alam. She gave up auditing work after she agreed to her MIL's proposal, i.e to be married to her son. (Di and family used to be our neighbour but me and Ziela didn't get to mix with Di and sibblings much then since we're away in boarding school. The only time i remembered before the family moved to Kedah was Ziela's MIL had her last child, who's a daughter. That was of course many years ago.. almost 19 years ago.) At that time Di was still a teacher in Langkawi. There's no way for him to move from Kedah straight to KL with the reason "to follow my wife" when asking for transfer. It's of course very much easier for my sis to ask for a teaching place near her hubby.

Mom has been "lady of leisure" from the time she married Dad almost 38years ago. She did all the house chores by herself, including managing us and Dad. She's very good at cooking becoz she's been well trained by her mom. After she finished primary education, she stayed home besides helping her parents at the padi field. My grandparents were farmers, who at the same time rubber tappers. Nothing came easy last time, according to my late granddad. He used to let me how hard life at that time eventho my grandparents were lucky to have their own rubber trees and padi field. Gramp said, "..kalau beli kain, sekayu sebab anak ramai..", "..nak ganti baju, setahun sekali.. mana ada merasa baju baru gegalak [in normal malay languange is banyak kali].." (I miss him a lot coz i used to spend a lot of time with him when i was small. Being the favorite grandchild just becoz i'm the eldest grand daughter (my cousins who are older than me are all boys), i got the privilege to listen to all his wonderful stories whenever we made a trip to KK). Mom also used to tell me how she used to carry 10kg of padi on her back when she was small. She did all the washing and cooking for her sibblings coz they were all still schooling. Whatever Mom experienced made me feel so lucky to have all the gadgets and maid to help do the house chores now, alhamdulillah.

When Mom got married to Dad, she get to follow Dad to a few places. Dad, being the army personnel, got to go Taiping, Kluang, Bentong, KL, Sabah and Sarawak during his tenure. Dad retired at the age of 45 from the army. At that time he looked as if he's only at his late 30s.. awet muda :) Even now when he's oredi 60 years old, he looks very much younger. Haa! rahsianya.. senang hati selalu. He's really calm when he faces any difficulties. To him, everything will be taken care of if you try really hard to take care of it. Whatever he can't solve, he'll leave it to the Almighty who knows better than him. His character really suits his name, Rahman which means penyanyang. Not only he's loving but also caring and very patience. Very rare that we got scolding from him when we're small. Unlike Mom who used to be very strict with her screaming and practising with the cane on us. What to do, me and sis used to be very naughty. With sis tearing off my books and me sakat her till she cry :) In other words, we used to quarrel all the time.. so memang kena rotan je la jawabnya.. [But, i realised since some time ago that Mom's scoldings were for our benefits. Other people will just talk bad about you when you made mistakes or do anything bad. But Mom (in general) will be the one who'll tell straight to you what wrong you've done and how to correct it. Of course the truth hurts but i'd rather know the truth than be fooled..] Anyways, Dad is still working after he retired twice, first from the army and second time from one of Genting Bhd's subsidiaries.

Mom used to sell kuih and nasi lemak when we're still schooling. Her kuih are very tasty.. memang sedap :D The range she used to make was kuih lapis, karipap, bingka tepung beras, seri muka, tepung pelita, lompang, lepat pisang, kuih lopis, talam ubi and a few others. After she quit, even until now, there are still people ordering kuih from here once in a while. She's very strict with her QC bcoz she wants her kuih to taste nice and did not get fermented easily. Mom quits kuih biz when she decided to look after Simba in 1998. Of course i was against her decision but she's really firm about it bcoz of many horror stories she heard about negligence maids. She looked after Simba and Faie then, before we moved to PJ in 2002. Now she occupies her time attending agama classes with her frens/neighbours. She seldom comes to my house as her classes are 4 times a week. So, every other weekend we'll have a feast with all of Mom's cooking :) Kids LOVE the time they get to spend in Gombak mainly becoz Dad like to buy new cartoon CDs for them. Else, they'll just entertain themselves with the existing cartoon CDs or play with toys.

To Mom and Dad, thanx for all the love you both have showered me with and you both know that my love will always be with you :)
To Ziela, eventho we're far apart and most of the time only get connected with sms and chat on the mobile, i'll always be there for you and i love you so much sis..

Updates on my kids :)

Simba will be in Primary 2 come January 2006. Bought his new shirts and bag few weeks ago. Other things than his books, he'll use previous year's coz some are still useable. Will need to teach him to be extra careful with his belongings so that those things, like school bag, pencilcase, color pencils, sharperner, etc can last longer. Bukan la kedekut nak berbelanja untuk anak-anak but berjimat cermat.. C oredi planned to go buy his books tomorrow so that we'll get all the needed books.
- He went for his first fishing trip today [Monday, 12/12/05] after he sweet talked C for a few days. They went with Yarzee, one of C's frens, to Port Klang. When i called them at abt 3pm, they're on their way back but they didn't get any fish. But Simba told me that the 'fishing neighbour' gave them some :)

My sweet gurl with the curly hair, Faie will turn 5 in 2006. It's time for her to attend kindy so we're sending her Simba's old kindy. We're very comfortable with the environment and the teachers there. She bought her Powerpuff Girls schoolbag earlier after i managed to pujuk her not to buy a Barbie schoolbag. Bought her shoes too, really cute one by KikiLala, which has small flowers on the buckle strip. We had a hard time looking for one actually bcoz of her small feet. Can't imagine that my lil girl will actually board Jenny's school bus soon :)

Mohsin insisted that he needs to buy his schoolbag too when kakak bought hers. He was eyeing those Batman bags when we're in Parkson. He went back and forth thinking of which design to choose but was so disappointed when we told him that he'll need to wait for another year. Maybe but next year he'll want to buy Spiderman bag instead. Well, will have to wait for that time to come. He's becoming more mischevious by the day. He can be very clingy to me whenever he's in the mood. He'll sleep next to me and put his head on my arm when Faie put her head on my other arm. But at other times, he'll sorta say to me "Ma, leave me alone coz I wanna play on my own".

Today is Milia's 2nd birthday. How fast time flies :) My maid has been singing with her the "Allah selamatkan kamu" song since yesterday. At this point of time, she resembles my sis when my sis was small. With her big eyes and her baby doll hair style. I think if i put Milia's pix next to Ziela's baby pix, many will not be able to differentiate who's who :) I love to see her when she smiles coz she looks so adorable with her white teeth sparkling. But never underestimate this lil girl who can be so fierce whenever people come and disturb her. I hope she'll grow up to be a very nice person :)
