Regal occasion for school

Johor Baru's Sekolah Tun Fatimah (STF) will mark its golden jubilee with sports, a fund-raiser, fun-fair, royal banquet and other activities from March 26 to early July.
The all-girls boarding school is inviting its alumnus and former staff to take part in the celebrations.
The activities, launched on Saturday, are jointly organised by STF, Old Girls' Association or Srikandi Tun Fatimah (SKTF) and Parent-Teacher Association.
The main focus is the setting up of the Dana Srikandi fund. It hopes to raise RM500,000 for the school's programmes through a futsal tournament, charity dinner, royal banquet and carnival.
On the drawing board are a treasure hunt, golf and bowling competition.
The money will be used to upgrade school infrastructure besides helping needy students.
SKTF president Prof Noriah Mohamed said it would be the grandest event held by the school to mark its 50th year of existence.
On March 26, a futsal tournament will be held at Sunway Sports Planet, Bandar Sunway. Twenty women's teams and 10 men's teams made up of boarding school alumnus will take part. [Note from me: 1] tournament will be held at Rio de futsal, 2] Twenty men's teams and 10 men's teams rather than what stated]
On April 1, SKTF patron Tengku Puan Muda Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar, will attend the fund-raising royal dinner, Makan Malam Perdana, at Sunway Lagoon Hotel Convention Centre.
On April 22, a treasure hunt will be staged in the Klang Valley.
A 'Back To School' programme will be held in June in which the seniors will motivate students.
In early July, a proclamation at the school will be graced by its patron, Johor Sultanah, Sultanah Zanariah Tunku Ahmad.
Noriah hoped that all Srikandis, including those who attended the first classes in Durian Daun, Malacca, will attend the event.
They will join Sultanah Zanariah and other royal family members, who are SKTF members, including newly-wed royal couple, Tunku Bendahara Johor Tunku Abdul Majid Idris Sultan Iskandar and former TV3 corporate communication manager Tunku Teh Mazni Tunku Yusof, for a royal banquet at the school.
This will be followed by a carnival at the school compound with about 40 booths selling various items.
STF, formerly known as Sekolah Menengah Perempuan Melayu, was based in Durian Daun before it moved to Larkin, Johor Baru, in August 1962.
School principal Halimah Shaaban said most of the students then came from villages.
She said those who graduated since 1963 had been big achievers with many becoming lawyers, doctors, broadcast personnel and corporate personalities.

STF Golden Jubilee Celebration
Busy, busy, busy, busy is the word i'm uttering more these days whenever people ask me. With STF 50th anniversary only a few months away, we've been having meeting almost every weekend, and small meetings whenever we get the chance to meet or even talk thru e-mails and phones. From the event, which we named as Golden Jubilee Celebration or GJC, we targetted to get RM300k so that the fund can help finance school activities and upgrade infrastructure. We're praying hard that we'll get the targetted amount or more :)
In conjunction with GJC, Srikandi, the Sekolah Tun Fatimah Alumni Association, has planned a series of events to commemorate the GJC. These events are aimed at publicizing the school's 50 years, culminating in the proclamation and Golden Jubilee Royal Dinner at the school in July. The planned events are:
a. Srikandi Invitational Futsal Tournament on Sunday 26th March 2006, at the Sports Planet Sunway,
b. Fundraising Dinner, ‘Makan Malam Perdana', on Saturday, 1st April 2006 at Sunway Lagoon Resorts Hotel,
c. GJC Golf Tournament, co-organized by PGA and Srikandi, during the GJC weekend of 30th June to 2nd July 2006, and
d. Proclamation of 50 years of STF and Royal Dinner on Saturday, 1st July 2006 on STF ground.

Under the weather..
Tengah busy giler cam gini, out of sudden i had high fever after i came back from work Thursday. Went to clinic after me and C had dinner outside. He insisted that i go to the clinic coz i complaint to him yang i dah seram sejuk as i never get any fever for quite some time.. maybe not in the past one and a half years kot. Kalau setakat feverish tu ada la but seldom. Doctor told me that i got throat infection, eventho the tonsils are OK, and my fever shot up to 39 degrees. I was supposed to be in PWTC on Friday bcoz promised my fren to help her jaga booth at MARA Usahawan Expo. But, i had to stay home coz Dr gave me MC. Best jugak duduk rumah with my kids :)
Felt better on Saturday so i went to PWTC to help around a lil bit. Didn't go around to other booth that much coz i was busy talking to my frens who also came to help. Macam-macam gerai ada kat situ esp the bateks. Kiri kanan booth my fren jual batek but i didn't get the chance to buy sebab just tengok dari jauh je. Kept in mind that i'll buy on Sunday. Seronok sangat sampai lupa demam, hehehe.
Went to PWTC again semalam eventho when i woke up yesterday morning i found out that i lost my voice. Lost my voice but still can talk so serak la sikit. So minum la air limau panas segelas, air asam jawa segelas dan makan madu sesudu. I asked C when we're on the way to PWTC "eversince you know me for more than 20 years, pernah ke dengar my voice cam gini?" to which he laughed. Seriously i never lost my voice before eventho dulu selalu sangat jerit-jerit sokong school teams at tournaments *LOL* Anyways, suara serak ke.. hilang ke, i was at PWTC yesterday talking to people who came by.. Buttt, didn't get to buy anything from other booths yesterday coz the time i went over to The Mall to eat, i can't go back to PWTC coz it was raining heavily. "Tawaf" ground floor of Mall dunno how many times kot la hujan berhenti until C called saying that he'll pick me up. By the time i left Mall at 6.15pm, rain hasn't stop. Oh well, maybe next time..
Today datang ofis with squeeky voice still :? Dah tak larat minum air dah but still HAVE to. System consultants pun takut nak tanya whatever to me coz takut my voice makin teruk. But hey, if i need to talk, still need to talk so just talk whenever necessary. One comment i got when i was in the lift this morning "bagus la you hilang suara.. tak la banyak dosa sebab tak leh bercakap.." which i replied with a smile "betul jugak eh" :)
Lazying around..
Cuti panjang dah habis :( Buat apa during those days? Cerita sikit la..
Saturday morning pegi IKEA coz kena beli wardrobe baru. Need to tidy up rumah sikit coz nak menghalang nyamuk membiak after main nyorok-nyorok kat belakang or celah kain yang bergantungan kat dinding. Was so happy sebab tak de problem cari parking and not many people were around at the time we reached there.. yippppeeee. Dah look see look see, booked one wardrobe dan dapat print out of items. Tengah dok tengok handles for the wardrobe, nampak pulak wardrobe lain which was cheaper so kensel the first order and booked another. On the way before and after booked the wardrobe, memang sangkut sini sana coz dok menengok barang kat IKEA tu macam jakun. Kids were so happy sebab boleh duduk kat sofa, baring kat katil, tengok TV, melompat around, main nyorok-nyorok kat dalam wardrobe while mama diaorang terjerit sebab takut anak dia hilang :p Ialah, dah lama tak pegi so memang banyak benda nak tengok dan jugak teringin nak beli. Oh well, tiap kali ku rasa teringin semua benda boleh tengok je sambil telan ayaq liuq sebab budget tight, hehehe. Had lunch of currypuffs there coz dah tersalah timing. After picked up barang, rasa menyesal didn't ask IKEA to deliver sebab almost tak muat masuk kereta. Nak jimat punya pasal la katakan....
Sunday was spent at home sebab tak de rumah nak pegi untuk kids collect angpow :) First time after many months dok kat depan TV at 12.30 tengok Melodi *LOL* Planned to go for hubby's fren's kenduri but tak jadi. But C went with another fren so kira OK la jugak. After lunch i shooed the kids to nap sebab nak bawak diaorang pegi main kat padang. Kids excited la sebab dah lama depa tak pegi padang coz me & C didn't allow our previous helper to take kids out from house compound. Bukan apa, our previous helper tu pantang jumpa her "frens", bersembang memanjang. Playground tu kat belakang rumah je. After their nap, took them to padang so suka depa sebab dapat main buaian, gelongsor and run around. Met Nola, my neighbour belakang rumah, there. Too bad Nola's sister Syakira was not around else Faie will be very much happier sebab Syakira tu "best fren" dia :) But still, they had fun and me & Nola were glad we got the chance to chat.
Asked C's permission to take kids to Subang Parade [Simba pegi rumah MIL coz nak belajar main chess with C's brother] so that he can put up the wardrobe on Monday. While C berhempas pulas in sweat and all to put up the wardrobe, we toured Toys R Us. I don't think i know any kids yang tak suka masuk Toys R Us sebab kat situ boleh main-main, with no obligation :) Eventho i was so tempted to buy them some things, i just simply can't coz kalau ikutkan diaorang, satu Toys R Us depa nak bawak balik. Will wait for "Vit B" to come la kot before i can buy them anything, hehehe. After Maghrib took them to rumah MIL as Simba was still there. Suka dia dapat main chess and also PS2 with his uncle. He's actualy thinking of spending the night there sebab nak sambung main the next day but we said "no" coz esok ada agenda lain pulak.. Anyways, the wardrobe is standing pretty oredi :) Horrraaaayyyy for C :D
Tuesday was actually a "makan" day coz we went to my parents' house in Gombak. It's dad's off day, that's why we went there, apart from the fact that we've been postponing our trip a couple of times. Mak masak kari ayam, sambal tumis ikan bilis dengan kentang, sup tulang, sayur campur dan ikan goreng. C buat sambal kicap untuk makan ngan sup tulang so memang makan sampai berpeluh-peluh. On top of that, mom also made bread pudding for dessert.. yummy :) Kids also got to watch one VCD after another, courtesy of Atok. Makan pisang goreng dengan teh "o" for tea was so heavenly. We all memang dah tau sangat that kalau hari tu nak pegi rumah my parents kena pegi ngan perut kosong sebab my mom memang suka masak macam-macam dan akan kecik hati kalau we all tak berapa nak makan.. Kalau my mom datang duduk our house pun sure dia akan bawak bekal macam-macam.
Had a meeting with some fellow Srikandis [x-STFians normally called themselves Srikandis after "Srikandi Tun Fatimah"] on some matters relating to STF 50th Anniversary celebration, which we call it Golden Jubilee Celebration [GJC]. Had Sara, Aifa, K.Puteri, Laila, K.Wa and Nola with me that day. Banyak jugak hal we managed to talk about. At the same time we also tried to find solutions for some other issues. Maybe i'll talk more about GJC later coz now banyak lagi benda yang belum confirm.. "We're still cooking something" bak kata orang sekarang :)
Me, C and kids berehat panjang semalam coz tak tau apa nak buat. Thot of going out but felt so lazy.. Simba pulak dah start sekolah eventho Faie still cuti. Thot nak pegi padang with kids semalam but hujan la pulak. But, alhamdulillah coz weather was so hot whole day yesterday, until it rained so at least sejuk la sikit :)
And today, here I am.. back in the ofis.. sitting infront of my PC, updating this blog again... Hi there frens :) Hope you all had a GREAT long weekend :D Care to share *wink*
